Oh, the sampler!

Last night we decided to check one of the local breweries in the Tower District. We went to Sequoia Brewery Company. I had the chicken fingers and garlic fries. The chicken fingers were your typical chicken fingers nothing special, the fries on the other hand were delicious! Just the right amount of garlic covering each fry! I loved them, they would go good with some wings :) My friend Mayra had never been to a brewery and I told her we must try a sampler. The one pictured here is what we had, each beer had a unique taste, we shared each one and rated them on a 1 to 10 scale 10 being we would drink again, and 1 being never again! It was fun to see each other's reactions to the different beers. I was surprised how affordable it was and how much fun we made sampling it! Would defiantly go again, and maybe try their burgers.

Happy Hour at Chevy's

Thursday night's Kickboxing class was replaced with light Christmas shopping and happy hour at Chevy's. Chevy's has some of the most delicious light and crispy chips in town. I ordered the fajita nachos with chicken. It is a plate of 8 individually layered chips topped with refried beans, chicken, and cheese. They come with a side of guac, sour creme and pico de gallo. I was in heaven, I enjoyed that each chip was fully loaded and full of flavor. I added the red salsa that was given to us with the chips and asked for green tomatillo salsa for an extra kick. I washed this delicious meal down the their seasonal Cranberry Margarita on the rocks with salt on the rim. It was a delicous drink, just the right amount of tart and sweet. This was a great ending to a Thursday night with good food, drinks and company. YUMMO!

Turkey sandwiches they never get old .

With Thanksgiving being over, I decided to make one last leftover turkey meal. My brother-in-law to be Jacob did his traditional deep-fried turkey for our Thanksgiving dinner. The fixings to this sandwich are very basic, I did however add some bacon. YUMMO! The taste of the deep-fried turkey took this sandwich to a whole new level. It was still very juicy and flavorful from the sauce that it was injected with. The bacon was a perfect crisp, and the romaine lettuce and pickle gave it and extra crunch. I bid adieu to my turkey leftovers with a class turkey sandwich. Maybe next year I'll make turkey taquitos.

Zesty Rigatoni, Sausage and Peppers

Last Wednesday I decided to make a meal out of what was already in my refrigerator. I found this recipe on AllRecipies.com (www.allrecipies.com/Recipe/Zesty-Penne-Sausage-and-Peppers/Detail.aspx ) I had yellow and green bleepers and some whole wheat pasta at home. I found the recipe to be quite simple. It was quick and easy the only substitution I did was the pasta shape. Overall the taste, well for me it was a little too sweet, I'm not sure if it was the cream cheese or the yellow peppers. But this is a recipe and a meal that I may not make again. You can't win them all. Not a Yummo moment, but maybe a yum.

Oh, Chippies

One of my favorite things to eat is chips. I love chips, I love chips so much I could probably eat them every day of the rest of my life and be okay with it. So it's only fitting that my second "yummo" post would be on chips. I found this recipe on Campbell's website. I must admit I was a little hesitant to follow the recipe word for word. Some of the ingredients to me made no sense for being in a nacho recipe. But I went with it and in the end it was a delicious meal. I was worried that it was going to turn out too soupy since the ingredients called for a can of Condensed Mushroom Soup, and Salsa but once it was all mixed together it was a beautiful melody of deliciousness. I made enough for four people and I was the only one eating. So i used the leftovers and made burritos out of it for lunch the next day! Yummo! Pesto you are delish!

Monday night I decided to be adventurous and cook with pesto sauce. I have never cooked with it before. I found an easy recipe on the Campbell's Soup website. The only thing it didn't have was a vegetable, so I added some broccoli. It was quick and easy to make, very basic ingredients.
I will try this meal again, possibly change it to whole wheat/grain pasta bows and a different veggie maybe asparagus or carrots. I paired it with a glass of chardonnay.
Definitely a YUMMO Meal!

Yummo

Per the advice of my older sister Jaymmy I have decided to start blogging about one of my greatest passions in life...Food. I LOVE to eat good food, and I've just recently started making some delicious meals at home. This Blog will focus on my adventures in food, weather it be a breakfast, lunch or dinner meal that I've either created (with the help of a recipe or a random concoction) or a meal that I've experienced out of my own kitchen; restaurant or friends home. I may also included my delicious drinks that I may encounter.
I guess we'll see where this journey takes us, many delicious meals and drinks as far as the eye can see. Life is to short one must eat, drink and be merry!
